ACL is upon us once again and unfortunately for me, I am stuck in DC aka The Real World and can’t be in the capital city to see the awesome lineup this year. Lucky for you reading this, you are in Austin and either looking for an alternative to the ACL craziness or looking for something to do after the day’s activities wind down. For all the Austinites, congratulations on what is sure to be another successful ACL, for all of the tourists, take care of my city, I plan on making a triumphant return one day and I hope I can still recognize my city by then. Anyway, here’s the break, break, down:

Friday October 2

Voxtrot + A Dj set from Phoenix!
Hang out with all of the cool skinny jeans kids at Beauty Bar, as and Learning Secrets hosts one of my favorite Austin bands, Voxtrot. with set design from Prototype Vintage Design.Too add on to the awesomeness, Loyauté Soundsystem aka Phoenix will be doing a dj set…WOW! Check out the video announcement from Learning Secrets and RSPV now!

The Knux + Bird Peterson + The Table Manners Crew
Social media and music music site imeem.com along with Keep it Local present hip hop from hip hop duo The Knux at The Independent along with dj badasses Bird Peterson and The Table Manners Crew. This event is free, just have to RSVP at imeem.com/live and get there early!

Saturday October 3

Soul of the Boot Entertainment and Strangetribe Productions present Dj Rich Medina, Martin Perna, Peligrosa Dj’s, and Dj Chorizo Funk at The Back Alley Social Club. $8 at the door but if you RSVP on Strangetribe’s Facebook page it’s only $5.

Sunday October 4

Big Sean Meet and Greet
Austin clothing boutique Complete Clothing will be hosting G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean at their brand campus location on Guadalupe. You know those G.O.O.D. music kids roll deep, I’m sure Mike Posner will make an appearance and who knows who else might make a cameo.

Also, Austin’s legendary restaurant and concert venue Stubbs, always does a great job of getting some of the best ACL acts for longer and more intimate sets. Check out the Stubbs concert site and maybe you can catch a group you missed during the day or if you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets you can check them out at the Stubb’s amphitheater.

Austinist.com also has a great slideshow of some of the parties going on this weekend, including Broken Social Scene at Seaholm Friday Night.
