Quite Nyce comes through with a dope ass video for your weekend viewing pleasure. For the coming weeks, Quite Nyce will be dropping tracks from his upcoming projects. On August 18th, his mixtape Hello My Name is Quite Nyce will be available for free download, and his album Through My Eyes will be available digitally on August 25th. Quite Nyce is a prolific Massachusetts areas artist, who has toured with Onyx, Das Efx, and Afu Ra as part of the group Radix.

Well, I guess when you have Mountain Dew money behind you, you can actually get some great, creative work done. Much props to Green Label Sound and U-N-I. These guys are probably one of my favorite newer hip hop groups, they’ve been featured here on Medium before, and they set the bar pretty high for every indie hip hop group out there. Mountain Dew’s Green Label Sound, a “record label” that is only putting out singles, is doing some great things for independent musicians, big ups to them for that.

Either way, U-N-I’s latest project with Ro Blvd, A Love Supreme, is still available online for free and if you haven’t seen the video for “Hollywood Hiatus” you need to get on that.

The homie Mos from Crew54 hit me up with this brand new video for Bavu’s song, “Go Blaze” featuring Ter’ell Shahid and produced by Picnictyme. The track is off of Bavu’s Extra Plair EP. After seeing this video, I really want some Waffle House.

New video from Mexican artist, Bocafloja. This guy has been grinding it out for a very long time back home. I’m not sure if he will ever break out in the US, but in Spanish and with his always stellar production, this guy is staying above everyone. You don’t even need to speak Spanish to enjoy this song. Listen!

Chalie Boy – I Look Good

We posted a few weeks ago about the video shoot going down in Austin for Chalie Boy’s second single, produced by Mr. Boomtown. The video is now out, looks like a lot of Texas hip hop characters showed their support for Chalie Boy, including Gerald G, Chingo Bling, Spark Dawg, Magno, and of course Rapid Ric. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the track a few times on the radio when I visited Austin a few weeks ago, shout out to whichever dj is supporting the local scene.

Ever since I moved to DC in 2007, one of the first names I heard around every hip hop circle was “Wale.” Fast forward a couple of years, a deal with Interscope and some key remixes and mixtapes later and Wale seems to finally be putting DC on the national hip-hop map. DC stand up! 

The song features Lady Gaga and the video has a cameo from hip hop legend, Bun- B. 

Wale is performing tonight, June 3 2009, at the 9:30 Club. 

The video has been taken down for now, will post it again when another pops back up online. Maybe we’ll get a higher quality version.

New Boyz – You’re a Jerk (Radio Edit and Instrumental)

I know they are signed to a major so I already know that plenty of  heads are going to hate on me for posting this New Boyz track (that or they’ll tell me it’s old and that I’m late on it), but I don’t care because this song goes off. It has inspired plenty of youtube videos including my favorite, the fighting cardboard box jerks. 

This song blew up online before they were signed and it looks like the majors took notice pretty quickly, let’s see where they go from here.

I saw this posted on a lot of other sites, but had to post it here anyway, because it is that awesome. Jake One and his peep’s ode to Seattle, with a cameo from Sir Mixalot and an all around laid back summer weekend song! Directed by Zia Mohajerjasbi.

The song is from Jake One’s album, White Van Music, out on Rhymesayers.
