Cincinnati based producer Ill Poetic, best known for his 2007 LP “The World is Ours“, releases his second remix/mash up project this year. His first remix/mash up project of 2008, “Budden Meets Portishead: Mood Muzik’s Third“, received critical appraise and I almost cosigned it as well but despite my love for Portishead I remembered how much I like to hate on Joe Buddens, so that didn’t happen…but you should check it out. His second remix/mash up project has him working with source material of two very well respected and influential artists in their own right but despite the similarities it’s pretty ambitious to think that a mash up project would go over well, but for the most part it does not disappoint. Now if only someone could actually get Trent Reznor, Outkast and the Organized Noize in an actual studio…now that’s some lofty ambitions for ya.
