Well, everyone is talking about the new Erykah Badu video anyway, so I might as well post it. She acknowledges that her video was inspired by Matt and Kim’s naked romp through NYC and apparently the video was shot on St. Patrick’s day in Dallas and done in one cut. In case you still don’t know, the video is probably NSFW by the way.

I think most of the discussion has been more about the nudity and less about this whole “group think” theme…which is kind of ridiculous, but the video is very interesting regardless. What do yall think?

Classixx Mix

Yo, Classixx have got to be my favorite djs right now. I discovered them myself after the homie Chop Steak included their remix to Mayer Hawthorne’s “Green Eyed Love” on a recent mix and I’ve been addicted to their sound ever since. I had the pleasure of seeing them spin at Malverde at SXSW, they did not disappoint! Searched around for a bit, looking for some mixtapes and found this one online from a while back. I think this mix is from 2008, which is right around the time things really started ramping up for them. Anyway, pretty dope overall, check it out!

Right before SXSW I finished this project up for Chop Steak. A pretty simple CD design but the steak CD is then wrapped up in butcher paper, with a faux carniceria label with a QR code that directed you to Chop Steak’s website. Some of yall were lucky enough to get physical copy, if not you can still listen to and download his latest beat tape. Holler at Chop Steak if you’re interested in working with him.

Dj Mel goes back in time to explore the Austin club scene during the late 80s to mid 90s and then serves as your Scott Bakula to put you in the shoes of the scene. The Five One - Road to SXSW

DC area based band will be hitting the road, en route to Austin! They have released a new mixtape and are accepting donations to help them fund the trip along the say. Hit up DeuceDayWorld to learn how yall can help out. Peace

So sorry everyone, not much time to post recently. Too much going on! Anyway, today I couldn’t stop listening to this new song from The Gorillaz, so I created the image that popped into my head after listening to the song for a while.  I focused on these verses:
